In 2017 Latin America kept its fame in Public Security’s annual ranking of the world’s most violent cities as most violent region in the world.

So what are the top 3 cities on the list?

3rd place

Sunny Acapulco is unfortunately always somewhere on the top of the list! Acapulco, Mexico had 106.63 homicides per 100,000 residents – in 2017! How do you feel about the idea of walking through the streets of Acapulco right now? You know how the song goes:

2nd place

Caracas, Venezuela. With a population of around 4 million, Caracas is the capital and most populated city in Venezuela. It is a commercial and cultural center located in a northern mountain valley. Located close to the Coast (La Guaira Port), but at an altitude of 800 meters (2400 feet), which gives it a unique climate. Caracas had 111.19 homicides per 100,000 residents in 2017. Wow. Not so nice figures. Would you agree?

Los Cabos is a municipality located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, in the state of Baja California Sur. Surrounded by the Sea of Cortés, the beaches of Los Cabos are located in the Baja California peninsula, where the most exclusive resorts await. But that is one side of the coin! Lovely Los Cabos had 111.33 homicides per 100,000 residents and is considered the most dangerous city in the world.

But we have to ask ourselves. Guys, you have such wonderful oceans, sandy beaches, and beautiful women to enjoy – so why so violent? Chill out!
