Have you ever heard about niche fragrances?
Welcome to our article on the best fragrances for men! The niche fragrances are different from the mainstream concept – their goal is not to sell as much as possible (kind of) but to have selected consumers from the perfume enthusiasts and to spice unique fragrances that can be considered a piece of art.
Some of the niche houses base their perfumes exclusively on natural ingredients, some on synthetic. Some of them make a story that plays around one ingredient such as rose, vanilla or oud, while there are also those who are all about the geographical area – James Bond fragrances of various parts of New York.
If you do not like to smell like popular perfumes and you are looking for your signature scent, we suggest you try best fragrances for men and some of our all-time niche masculine favorites:
Creed is a French perfumery founded in 1760 – a house with a serious reputation and a long history that brings the classic scents of timeless elegance. Aventus is the BMW of the male perfume world (you know our feelings on the car maker now too). It is designed in honor of the great emperor Napoleon Bonaparte.
The scent represents luxury, style and elegance and is considered one of the masterpieces of perfume art. Fresh, long-lasting, slightly bitter, cold and untraceable, it opens with citrus-fruity notes, freshly sweet and after 20 minutes it turns into a beautiful rhapsody of flowers, musk and wood. The only thing that might turn you off is the $250 price-tag for a bottle of 4.1 oz. However, if you buy it once, you will always return.
Amouage “Reflection Man”
Comes from the niche perfumery located in Oman, which has fans all around the world. Who once tries Amouage perfumes will stay impressed for a long time. They are luxurious, intoxicating, mighty and seductive. Packed in beautiful mysterious bottles, a wonderful experience for all senses. It is not easy to find a male niche perfume that would appeal to the broad masses: a perfume that is not edgy, but a classic, in which there are no overloaded notes and which is suitable for both everyday use and special occasions.
Reflection would be one of those rare fragrances. Designed for a modern man who wears a casual outfit as well as a suit. Reflection Man smells sharp, woody and transparent but it will be all around you for hours. It stays on clothes for days and does not let you forget it. Again the high price is the only issue about Reflection Man, but shhh… there is something similar (although not the same) in the mainstream perfumery – Jean Paul Gautier “Le Male”.
Frederic Malle “Musc Ravageur”
Fredric Malle is the grandson of Serge Heftler, the founder of Dior fragrances. This niche house was founded in France. The bottles are minimalist in design – besides the name of the perfume, each one is signed by the designer of the scent. Fredric Malle perfumes are unique, different and extravagant. Musc Ravageur has the unisex label although it actually belongs to the men’s skin line. Unlike the previous two suggested perfumes, Musc Ravageur delights with warmth, spices and sweetness.
It opens with citrus and herbs, lemon and lavender, and when you think “what’s all the fuss about?” you’ll feel gorgeous notes of cinnamon and cloves that smell like heaven. After an hour, there is a dry down, what remains when the top notes evaporate, the beautiful warm harmony of vanilla, musk and amber. Really unusual, warm, oriental olfactory experience, only for the selected ones. You will like it or hate it. There is no between.
