This space rocket is totally different from all the previous ones – it’s sending into space a Red Tesla car and the hopes of humans reaching Mars. What is also interesting is that a rocket named “Falcon Heavy” was launched from the Kennedy Space Centre in California, the same space center used for launching Apollo 11 that landed the first two humans on the Moon. Now, Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster is on its way to Mars orbit. The first model of the Californian brand Tesla will remain attached to the rocket until the second stage when it reaches Mars when it will detach and start to orbit around the red planet.Throughout its space travel, the Tesla Roadster infotainment system will reproduce the song “Space Oddity” by David Bowie on repeat at top volume for as long as it can. A space-suited mannequin is at the wheel, named ‘Starman’ after the David Bowie song. The car will take at least six months to travel the 200 million miles to Mars.Watch the live feed from SpaceX’s Roadster-driving Starman in space.Read more in the Technology section.Follow us on Instagram too!You might also like:Share This 06/04/2018
