The prototype of Porsche 911 was first unveiled at the Frankfurt IAA Motor Show as the 901 and renamed the 911 for its market launch in 1964. And while it may still look similar, it’s actually come a long way.The original 911 was based off the Porsche 356. Peugeot claimed the rights over the 901 monikers, so Porsche was forced to select another name for its 356 successors. The new car maintained the 356’s fastback design and utilized an air-cooled flat-six that produced 130 bhp. The Porsche 911 is only manufactured in Zuffenhausen, a district in Stuttgart, Germany. The car company makes about 110 Porsche 911 models a day.OK – few words now about this fancy black edition! What is so special about it? The most obvious feature is its sleek black paint job that is one-half of the reason for its name. Also setting this model apart are its standard 20-inch Turbo-style wheels, auto-dimming side-view mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, and an exclusive “911” rear badge. Looks great! The Porsche 911 Black Edition started at $88,800 for the Carrera version — about $4,500 more than a regular Carrera. Which is a considerably good bargain, we think. As a bonus, here you can see the interesting video created by Porsche where you can see the transition of 7 generations of the Porsche 911.…Like to read about famous and luxurious cars?
