HomeStyleInterview With Lando Griffin – The Suited Racer Interview Moto StyleInterview With Lando Griffin – The Suited Racer Lando Griffin - The Suited RacerModern times call for modern heroes and heroines. Unfortunately, you can’t find them as many as you’d probably like, but there are a few that stand out. We found one that stands out by his looks, style, and mission and asked him to share a few words with us. Only if you were in the internet isolation during last year or two, you haven’t heard for Lando Griffin, The Suited Racer, one of the brightest and certainly most mysterious Instagram star. And most probably the next hero you will see on the street?TM: Hi Lando. Let's introduce you to our readers. Is Lando Griffin your real name or your pseudonym? Or can you first tell us where are you from and where can we meet you unintentionally these days?TSR: Uh... yes. I’m a New Yorker. You can unintentionally meet me in NYC, though I doubt you’d ever know.TM: Yes, I saw that you were recently in Miami and Milano if I am right. I read somewhere, last year maybe I think, you said your style is somehow related to James Bond mixed with Batman. Can you please tell us more about it?TSR: I don’t recall ever saying that. But I do remember a magazine making that comparison. I don’t know that it’s for me to say. In that specific regard, I prefer to leave it up to the viewers. TM: Action hero and stylish, that’s probably why they made that comparison. The important thing with you is that you are Suited, and by that, I mean suited extremely well. How do you choose those fabulous suites? Are you your own designer?TSR: I have an incredible affinity for suiting. With it comes a keen eye for fit. I prefer bespoke suits and I have a nice collection from mostly New York City ateliers like Duncan Quinn, Alexander Nash and (on the more attainable side) Acustom.TM: You mention collections... How many bikes The Suited Racer hides in his garage? Do you have a special one?TSR: I would say my collection is at about 15ish. My special one is a Black 2009 Ducati Sport Classic 1000s with almost no miles.TM: Great choice. Duc always looks vintage. Tell us more about your mission, what do you want to share with the world?TSR: My mission is quite clear, I would like the world to know that it really doesn’t matter what we look like. Race/ethnicity, pretty, ugly... we are all just human. Brothers and sisters. People often think the antonym of beautiful is ugly. That to me is a mistake. Ugly and pretty are antonyms. Ugly can be beautiful, and it quite often hides the most beautiful things.TM: I totally agree. I saw recently a comic book short stories with you as the main character on your Instagram. That was an interesting and cool idea, can we expect Suited Racer comic book on the shelves maybe?TSR: Absolutely.TM: Would Suited Racer in the comic book be a villain or a good guy, in your imagination?TSR: Great question. That is for everyone to read and find out. I don’t truly subscribe to the idea of “good guy/bad guy”. The real world operates differently. I like real. TM: What music video would you like us to put on The MAN video of the day section, what music do you like? And would you perform maybe on Daft Punk concert with your bike?TSR: There is only ONE video worth obsessing over right now and that is “This is America”. Of course, if Daft Punk wants to give me a call, I’ll always answer.TM: That would be a perfect show, in my opinion. And, tell us at the end of this interview - who designed your helmet? It really looks amazing!TSR: I’m an artist first. So my helmet, naturally, was designed by me. The X is the universal sign of rejection. If we learn how to deal with rejection, if we learn to defeat rejection, we can accomplish anything.TM: Wow. What a great thought for the end of our interview. Thank you, Lando Griffin, The Suited Racer.I hope we will have a chance for Part II of this conversation with you in the future. Stay cool....
