Ferrari 488 Pista Spider – Best ever open-top performance
This is Ferrari’s 50th open top model. And we have to say – it’s beautiful. And more than that, of course. This is a Ferrari.
This Hardcore Italian convertible is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which develops a large 720 hp and 770 Nm of torque. Compared to the standard 488 Spider, the Pista model is much more aerodynamic, primarily thanks to the aero body kit, which brings 20 percent more efficiency. Furthermore, the front hood and bumper, rear bumper and diffuser are ultra-light and made of carbon, which of course affects the mass. And the result is – 488 Pista Spider weighs just 1380 pounds (625kg). Reduction result that can make engineers quite proud.
The interior has a distinctively slender racing character. The driver zone has been enhanced by two newly-developed all-carbon-fiber instrument clusters around the main instrument panel. Furthermore, the Sideslip Management System (which is Ferrari’s advanced traction and stability control system), as well as extreme direct control, should also be mentioned.
To summarize, this “hardcore” convertible needs up to 2.85 seconds to hit 60 mph (100kph), and 8 seconds to hit 125 mph (200 kph). Ferrari 488 Pista Spider can go up to 210 mph or 340 kilometers per hour!
